Benefits

Pacific Northwest Artist Catalog...

...is the brainchild of Grace and Michael Dane-C, Grace at one point in her life was a successful gallery owner. But there were things about the business that rubbed her the wrong way. Grace was/is an artist herself, although she will not be sharing that part of her life, she has lived and earned as a successful artist and knows first hand the costs involved. Not only the ones having to do with the making of art but the costs of being an artist, the donations artists are called on to give without thought to the cost a is constant request. The costs of commissions, the costs of pre-paying for every little event to get the word out, $500.00 here $500.00 there and you only get in if someone else says you are good enough. Then there are the social aspects, so and so knows so and so and if they like you your art is in. If they take a dislike to you then you are out. This ultimately is why this concept is evolving into a website and a promotional tool for artists that comes with a tiny price tag.

 Benefits:

 1. Instead of a tiny name with a small list of who you are and what you do and where you do it, the catalog is designed to splash your name and creative skill all over a double page spread.

 2. Feature stories about well-known artists will put your name near theirs, you don’t have to be in the clique to get to rub elbows. Virtually, as they read the feature stories they will naturally flip to other pages and there you will be. This is in part the concept.

3. We have a premier SEO specialist we have hired, their job will be to use their skill to make your name one that pops up on an art search. The only thing left to do is if your genius in the arts attracts their attention. If your information is there the contact can be made.

4. We have made it very affordable, $25.00 a year for an artist, feature stories are free, there will be interactive areas on the website. We will be starting one of those right on the blog while we wait for the website and full catalog, to come online in October.

5. Your participation starts October 1, 2013, in the meantime, we will be promoting your addition to the catalog through the blog now. Once the website is up, which will be before October we will transfer your information there. Your year will end October 2014.

6. For artists that do not have websites we will be offering individual portfolios, for what works out to $12.50 a month. A flipbook portfolio will allow you to add anything you want without the additional costs of maintaining a website on your own. Partially automated you will be able to fill in the blanks. We will help with the art graphics for working with the software is our job. When you are just starting this can be daunting.  For artists with your own website, this is more like advertising, for that $25.00 you will have a link to your website in the catalog. $25.00 is $2.08 a month, for less than a latte, more traffic will be sent to your website. Traffic that has been prescreened for the arts, by our SEO practices.

7. In 2015 Pacific Northwest Artist Catalog will be hosting an art show in the Pacific Northwest. The prizes will be substantial. All catalog artists will be invited to compete digitally for the live show without a preview fee.

8. Pacific Northwest Artist Catalog will be putting in place a program where we purchase artworks through the business for a variety of events. Some for donating, some for gifts, some of course just because we want them for the office or our personal collection, some for resale depending on the contract.
