Welcome to Pacific Northwest Artist Catalog
As Wanda has shared with you the official launch of the catalog is October 1, 2013. Your year starts on that date. However, we will be bringing your information up on one of the sample catalogs as soon as we get your information, just a bit more time for your money.
We are very excited to be a part of promoting your artistic career, through your layout on PNAC. Short for Pacific Northwest Artist Catalog.
As we gear up please be prepared to interact with us on the critique page, the blog (we will want to know about new works and when you make a sale, we want to congratulate you. This puts your name out there in the cyber world more often and is great for your personal SEO. (Search Engine Optimization.) Our goal is to be a great tool for each artist that comes aboard.
Until we become fully automated, we will personally be loading your information,
These are the things we need.
a. A good head shot 500 by 500 pixels, 300dpi
b. Your full name
c. The city you associate with where you live, we want buyers to look you up when they are in or near your hometown.
d. Your professional contact information, phone, email, website, agent, gallery your choice.
e. 6 to 8 images of your artworks, feel free to put your watermark over your artwork if you are uncomfortable with possible copy issues. Two comments here, one it will be difficult to copy and paste for the average person, once we load the art it should not be easy to copy. Secondly if you do choose to use a watermark please make sure it is faint enough not to take away from your image. Please note, if you are prolific and are selling your works like hotcakes, we will gladly update your page with a 30 day notice, there will be a staggering amount of artists and artisans in the catalog but we desire to keep your information fresh.
Instructions:
BIO: We would like a 300 word biography, please be specific, if you have professional schooling state so, if you do not please state self taught and or multiple classes, etc. Remember, either way it does not matter; some artists need the schooling others do not.
Honestly, be yourself but do not talk about your doggies that get their tails in your paint. If you are special and get lots of attention, we want to know, for we might write a feature article about you too. (that’s free).
Professional Artists
There are two types of professional artists:
1) those that create and sell,
2) and those that create just to create.
A professional artist on our site; will be designated as one who sells their art.
An artist who paints but does not worry about whether they sell our not will be called a lifestyle artist. Still a professional but of a different level, these artists do it just because they must.
Amateur: A person who engages in an art, or artisan activity as a pastime rather than as a profession
Emerging artist: An artist actively doing shows and participation in the art scene to build their provenance through these activities to ensure sales and larger financial value to their body of work.
Any hiccups in our services are the fault of the wicked word wide web and we will adjust to them as quickly as possible.
